Our Purpose
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30
Purpose
“Christ is at the heart of who we are and all that we do”
Process
1. Love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
2. Love everyone we come in contact with through the Love of God.
Who We Are
The people who make up the fellowship of New Harmony are normal “everyday” people who in the midst of a normal life heard the life-changing story of Jesus. Each of us came to a point of realizing that we are not perfect and that Jesus came to die on a cross for each of us to provide forgiveness for our mistakes and short comings. This forgiveness is not something we have earned or that we could possibly obtain in our own ability. It is the Grace of God that we have each received as we have personally trust Jesus as our Savior and Lord. That is the common connection that draws each of us together, God’s love for each of us and our love for Him. That same love is available for you along with a place in our Church family.
What We Do
When someone trusts in Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord, they become a follower of Jesus, (Disciple) and a member of the family of God (The Church) as they profess their personal faith in Jesus through believer’s baptism. A new believer then unites in fellowship with our church, and begins the process of discipleship which includes studying the Bible and God’s plan for their life.
As a new Christian continues in the process of discipleship, he or she begins serving through our church with the spiritual gifts that God has given them, and begins sharing their personal faith with those they come in contact with.
As a Christian grows as a disciple, he or she will become one who will disciple new believers, faithfully share their personal faith with those they come in contact with, encourages and advances God’s Kingdom through exercising their spiritual gifts.
Everything we do here at New Harmony centers around our love for God and our personal relationship with Him. It is our goal that all events, services, fellowships, and Bible studies have the purpose of one or more of the following;
Loving God, Worshiping God, Serving God, Making God’s Love Known to the Community, Loving People through the Love of God, Ministering People, Reaching People, Helping People, Uniting People
